Recently awarded second prize in the International Singing Competition of Toulouse, Eduarda Melo has been developing her career mainly between France and Portugal.

After graduating from Porto’s Superior School of Music and Performing Arts (ESMAE) and a remarkable period at the Opera Studio of Casa da Música, Eduarda launches herself on an international career that begins with her joining the prestigious cast CNIPAL in Marseille.

In opera she was Corinna (Il Viaggio a Reims) Teatro Nacional de São Carlos, Lisbon; Rosina (Il Barbiere di Seviglia) Opéra de Lille; Elvira (L’Italiana in Algeri) Opéra de Marseille; Norina (Don Pascuale) Teatro Nacional de São Carlos; Musetta (La Bohème) Saint-Céré Festival; Despina (Cosi Fan Tutte) Teatro Nacional de São Carlos; Erste Dame (Die Zauberflöte) and Stéphano (Romeo et Juliette) Opéra de Marseille; Frasquita (Carmen) Opéra de Lille and Thêatre de Caen; Valencienne (La Veuve Joyeuse) Folies d’O Festival, Montpellier; Ruth (Paint Me/Luís Tinoco) Culturgest; Spinalba (Spinalba/F. In contemporary music she has privileged portuguese composers and has participated in several performances with roles such as Vera, in A Little Madness in the Spring, by António Pinho Vargas; Pastora and Rapaz de Bronze in the operas A Montanha and Rapaz de Bronze, by Nuno Côrte-Real and, more recently, in the performance Livro de Florbela op. 42 (Nuno Côrte-Real) with Ensemble d’Arcos.

In concert, the interpretations of Mozart’s Requiem, Stabat Mater (Poulenc), Ein Deutche’s Requiem (Brahms), Giuditta (Almeida) Pulcinella (Stravinsky) and O King (Berio) stand out.

She has worked with conductors such as Marc Minkowski, Antonello Allemandi, Martin André, Jean-Claude Casadesus, Cesário Costa, Manuel Ivo Cruz, Laurence Cummings, Jean-Sébastien Béreau, Stefan Ausbury, Franck Ollu, Jérémie Rhorer and Michael Zilm.

She regularly collaborates with the Ludovice Ensemble and Divino Sospiro.

Her future commitments include a participation in the performance “Mozart Concert Arias”, by the choreographer Anne Teresa de Keersmaeker with the National Ballet Company and Rosina (Il Barbiere di Seviglia) in the theatres of Caen, Reims, Limoges and Dijon.
